Yoga enters lives in many ways. For me, the way was through my experience as a US National skydiving competitor. I thought yoga might improve my sport performance. Shortly after, I spent less time falling (out of the sky, that is) and focused on climbing (inwards, that is) through the practice of yoga. It became my center of interest, and I earned certification as a yoga instructor at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in Woodbourne, NY in 1997. The photo at the top of the page, lotus in the sky, was featured in Yoga Journal Magazine, February, 1998. I believe an awesome yoga class challenges you, and nurtures your spirit at the same time - it lures you inwards, and empowers you to listen in silence - it teaches you awareness, and helps you get to know yourself. It connects you to the inner observer of all things. The yoga mat is a great place to sweat, moan - breath...breath...breath - shake, stretch, strengthen, fall, humble yourself, curse yoga, bless yoga, and have an awesome time with yourself and other remarkable folk while discovering your inner potential. Intertwining my years of yoga experience, I teach classes which encompass various yogas, including: Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini, Vinyasa, Anusara, and Sivananda. I encourage non-competition and adaption of poses to the needs of the individual within a group format. Most of all, I hope the classes serve as a catalyst for revealing your inner authentic teacher. My philosophy is touched with the essence of my favorite yoga folk: Erich Schiffmann, John Friend, Bryan Kest, Baron Baptiste, Ravi Singh, and BKS Iyengar, Paramahamsa Hariharananda, and Paramahamsa Prajnanananda...
